“A1 Experience”

After not having thrown my leg over a bike for over thirty years I decided that it was time to grasp the nettle and take my full direct access. I am sure I am not the first to do this or the first to have serious reservations about what I was about to undertake.

A taster session was duly booked and the day arrived with me firmly believing I was about to make a complete clown of myself. I was greeted warmly and put at ease by the instructor, kitted out and in no time was on a bike in a secure area doing figure of eights and various manoeuvres that banished the previous nights visions of me spending most of my time picking the bike up off the tarmac while sheepishly apologising for any damage!

In fact I came away from that session with such confidence that I thought I may be in with a chance of , if not winning, then certainly being placed in the top three in this years MotoGP!

Sadly, this was not the case, but what did happen was that I was guided through a course of instruction by a team who made what could have been a very stressful experience an absolute pleasure. Their professionalism is without doubt, but there is more than that at ValleyBike School, there is a natural friendliness and willingness to help that made lessons feel more like a ride out with mates, but all the time learning essential skills.

The school guided and informed me throughout my training, while allowing me to set my own pace, giving me time to learn at my own pace.

It worked! I passed my Mod Two first time!

On the way back from the test centre a scary thought entered my mind ' yr on yr own now mate, no one to put you right on that difficult manoeuvre, oh no!' But then I thought, hang on, you'll be fine, you have been taught by the best, you have been taught by Valley Bike School!
