“Disappointing Online Service from a specialist”

For a dedicated retailer, the online service is not good enough. An order should not take 2 days to pick and despatch. I ordered five items that were listed as in stock. Only on receipt of the despatch confirmation do I find out that only three are being supplied (all of which are presents and one book being sent is a volume two without the volume one I also ordered). I have no idea if the others are to follow or if that is it. The postage charged for 3 items is the same £5.50 I was quoted for 5 items. I wasn't given any opportunity to reconsider.

I was concerned at the lack of information about shipping method at checkout but the despatch confirmation has confirmed that it is 2nd class mail - another underwhelming aspect of the transaction. I would liked options and been able to choose a quicker method.

I had naively thought that a specialist retailer would aim to set high standards of service. But, it really has been disappointing. I will not end up with what I ordered and it will have taken at least 4-5 days longer than I expected (if the goods arrive in 2-3 days time).

What should have been a simple order now leaves me with more effort to go to and regrets about buying from FP. If a company is not serious about online sales then don't do it.
