Delivery staff are seemingly incapable of just ringing a doorbell. They either bang hard and loudly on my wooden door, or simultaneously ring the bell and bang on the door. I have resorted to sticking a bright yellow Post-It Note on my door with "BELL" and an arrow written on it but to no avail. When I have politely pointed out that there is no need to bang on my actual door, I can only describe the response as incredibly rude and closely resembling that of a petulant child.
Please advise your staff that not everyone appreciates having babies / small children / pets / other disturbed or woken by unnecessary loud and sudden banging created by these quite frankly dreadful, unprofessional delivery people.
The latest sulky delivery person whined that he didn't hear the bell. Perhaps a staff training session on how to ring a bell and wait 2 or 3 seconds for the occupier to open the door would help? After all, it is the person inside the house who needs to hear the bell, not the person outside.
