“Poor service for 3 separate Bristol students”

Written on: 21/06/2017 by Reviewspdf (1 review written)

My daughter and 2 of her friends are all international students at UWE Bristol. All moved out of student accommodation in May 2017, left the UK and will move into different apartments in Bristol in September. All 3 decided to use LoveSpace for summer storage as none had the transportation means required for self-storage. On the website, one has to book a date for drop off of packing materials and a separate date for pick up of boxes for storage. Scheduling is anytime during the day in a 9 hour period, but no estimate is given of time. My daughter booked her packing materials drop off date and stayed in her residence the entire 9 hours and the materials never came. She called LoveSpace and was told because they used a courier company in Bristol, they could not control the packing material drop off. Two days later she got a notice on the door that the packing materials could not be dropped off as she was not home. She called several times and after several misses she was finally able to have the materials dropped off at the student accommodation office. Her friends had similar experiences. For pick up, all three students scheduled the pick up date on the same day from their respective accommodations, which were very close together on campus. The website said not to book for the day they were scheduled for a flight so they all booked for the day before their flights. All three stayed in their residences for 9 hours and only one student's boxes were picked up. She told the driver about her friends but apparently they were not on the driver's list. The remaining two students phoned LoveSpace as they were leaving UWE the next day and also my daughter had an exam the next day. The answer was that because LoveSpace used a courier company, they could not control the pick up. The following day, one day late, my daughter's boxes were picked up, minutes before her exam. The third student had to leave her boxes at the student reception and they were picked up 2 days late. Really very worried about the return drop-off, which is still 3 months out...
