Gouves Aphrodite Beach Club

Gouves Aphrodite claims to be a 4* and looks grand but I have never stayed in a hotel where they run out of beer, the food is not edible and the all inclusive actually does not mean that.

There was no snacks available during the day, except between 3-4 which consisted of cake and cookies and this was the only time ice cream was available for the kids. The outdoor pool was a salt water pool and the the salt was so concentrated that almost everyone had sore eyes, it also faded your swimwear, it was much stronger than the sea. There was very few English guests but the handful complained that Germans were treated much better than the English, French, Russians and Norwegians. There was one bar person serving drinks which was the pool bar and lobby bar, sometimes it took 45 minutes to get a drink, the only other bar did not open until midnight. This is a very large complex and has 1600 guests in the high season, mainly German. Some nice bars are a short walk away and very friendly but not cheap. The place was well kept but rooms consist of 4 single beds, 1 chair, a dressing table, fridge, 2 bedside cabinets and a small side table, also a fitted wardrobe, far too small for 4 persons and very basic. Would not recommend it.

On arrival the Aphrodite Beach Club staff were very helpful and welcoming, they do their utmost to make you comfortable. The hotel was very clean and organised which helped to create a relaxed atmosphere. The location is just two minutes from the beach and the views are stunning. The pool area is lovely and very spacious so you never felt you were in a crowded place. The food is excellent and varied and the staff really make you feel like you are walking in the restaurant for the first time, each time you go in. Although we went in late September, the weather was hot but nice and fresh. I have already recommended the hotel to my friends and would go back again.
