The Epson R285 looked like a great buy - it wasn't. I was buying this printer in order to print DVDs and ordinary A4 paper printing. It does the job very well in terms of print quality, especially on DVDs. However, I would warn everyone away from this printer if intending to use it to print DVDs/CDs. It is the most frustrating printer I have ever come across. In order to print DVDs you simply change a tray. No problem. A hell of a lot of whizzing, whirring and clicking the printer is ready. But the onscreen prompts tell you that the tray is not set correctly so you reset it, lots m ore clicking and whirring - this process can go on for a long time. I have foun d myself screaming at the printer on several occasions. Especially after it finally prints a copy and then tells me it can't print another because the tray isn''t set right!!! And did I mention that a colour cartridge costs £50! Do not buy this printer, you are asking for trouble.
