Good Points
When the sound is cranked up its got an excellent bass.
Bad Points
It is not a surround sound system, regardless of what the marketing says, this system is a 2.1 system. Whilst its supposed to provide a virtual surround sound, we did not experience this at all. On top of that it broke after 14 months and will no longer recognise dvds.
General Comments
Whilst the Philips HTS6510/05 is probably a good system for a small room, for a medium sized room (10' x 12') it is a stereo system, which given the sales ploy and marketing of this is a real virtual system that will send sound all around the room just as if it was a 5.1 system it doesn't.
It was also disappointing after purchasing it, that after 14 months it stopped working with dvds. Which whilst only being two months over the standard warranty neither Philips or Currys (who I purchased it from) will consider repairing it free of charge. Therefore both Philips and Currys are also on my "not purchasing those or from them again" list.
