“We had to get the first one replaced because it broke...”

We had to get the first one replaced because it broke - Morphy Richards did this. We used the second one for under 6 months and it broke again and they would only offer a discount on the current model because the warranty was out of date. The problem in both cases is that the iron indicates that a new filter is required - when a new one is purchased and installed it still indicates a new filter is required and wont produce steam. It is petty porr to pay c. GBP 200 for an iron and to only get two years service from it. I would not trust Morphy Richards again.
