Good Points
Good intonation throughout the range. Reedy tone which carries nicely in solo work. Easy to play top F and G and even a high C! Beautiful wood turning in the manufacture. Curved windway which drains moisture well. I have had mine since 1980 and it has only recently needed re-bushing at the thumbhole.

Bad Points
Eggshell oil finish does tend to get finger-stained rather easily, but this is regarded as fairly 'traditional' by many players. Not ideal as a consort instrument as it doesn't always blend with quieter models.

General Comments
The Roessler Oberlaender Treble in boxwood is a good wooden baroque recorder at a sensible price. A very different sound to a plastic instrument and a better solo instrument in my opinion than a number of modestly priced instruments.

A super recorder for a good amateur!
