“I got this Sendo s200 mobile phone for Christmas 2001...”

written by Ellie. on 19/12/2002

Good Points
Perfect mobile for kids,
Simple to use so good for a first mobile.

Bad Points
A lot of dust collects under the cover/screen,
The back cover creaks when you grip the phone.

General Comments
I got this Sendo s200 mobile phone for Christmas 2001 because of the picture messaging compatibility to other Sendo s200s as my friends were all getting the Sendo s200 for Christmas as well.

When I opened the box I was stunned- there was this little navy blue baby phone all snuggled up in its packaging.

It was such a breeze putting in the battery, simcard and putting on the back cover.

When I switched this little beauty on, boy was I excited.

The phone overall has brilliant features for casual use. It's especially good for teenagers or for a first mobile. This is because of the way that the menus are so easy to navigate. It is great for teens because of the picture messaging compatibility. Don't get this confused with the new MMS or EMS picture messaging service, it isn't compatible with this. It has its own pictures wich can be sent to other compatible Sendos. This is the Sendo equivilent to the Nokia picture messages.

I personally think that reception can't be judged on the handset but should come down to which network you are using. I am using a Virgin (T-Mobile) simcard with my Sendo. It has excellent coverage and there are no reception problems in Surrey.

This Sendo is a no-go area for business users. It lacks in business features- no caller groups, no bluetooth, no camera attachment, no voice activated dialling.... But it is a great buy and what you would expect for £50 worth of your money. That is the average selling price for these little beauties as of 19/12/02.
