The RAC 200 sat nav is a cheap but well made sat nav. It has some nice features, like a very good search system, with full post code search and street name search, but also has fuzzy search, fuzzy search acts a little like a Internet search engine. Its easy to use, which is good as the manual is not very good at all, having said that, full instructions are on the cd. Despite it having a entry level size screen, the quality is just as good as some sat navs that are more than twice the price. Speed Camera updates are free.
Battery life is average for a sat nav, but i feel its to short at around 3 hours.
When switched on for the very first time it takes around 5-10 mins to find the satellites. But every time you switch it on after it only takes 1 or 2 mins, then it takes around a min to sort itself out. But after its solid and is very good at getting you around, only twice has it failed to take me to my destination, once was the estate i was trying to find was only just finished, and the second was it did not find the right house, it was only off by 10 meters.
So overall a good cheap sat nav, but its not quite as good as some better ones, because it does not have bluetooth etc. But it is a good A 2 B unit. My mate has one, and his was having a little trouble finding satellites, this is because of his cars screen construction, so he bought a Ariel for it for 5 pound, it transformed his sat nav, it now finds satellites very quickly [faster than mine], and all is well now, so if you are having trouble finding satellites and trouble with routing then a cheap mcx antenna will probably fix it.
