We have booked (and prepaid) Muang Samui for our honeymoon this June. From the leaflets and the website it seemed like the perfect romantic venue for us!

When we arrived there they welcomed us with a fresh coconut drink and asked us to wait for a couple of minutes! After 20 minutes they came to inform us (with the Thai smile) that they were overbooked! Kindly they asked to move us to another hotel (5*) nearby, the Kataburi Resort (not that great!), for 2 days and that we were offered a complimentary dinner and 1 massage per person at their hotel. Since we didn't have another option we accepted. After two days we went back to the Muang Samui. The room was fantastic without any doubt and the hotel staff was very good.

During our last day there and although we had booked and paid for a late check out, they asked us to move our staff from the room, because they had already booked it. (Overbooking again). And because our flight wasn't until the 7pm we had no other option but to agree. They came to check the room and the mini bar and moved our staff to a guest room in the basement of the reception. We settled the bills, paid everything and went back to the pool to enjoy our last day there!

It is a pity such a hotel with great rooms, facilities etc not to be organized and to operate like this.
