“We had a dreadful experience at Confetti and Lace,...”

written by on 01/09/2010

We had a dreadful experience at Confetti and Lace, harrogate and leeds. For bridesmaid dresses. They were ordered about 10months before the wedding. The dresses were recieved by the shop and we wanted to go in for a fitting but told us not to bother until 4 weeks before the wedding.

When arriving for fitting one dress (tho it had been in the shop months) didnt have a lace back for the dress and the other was an absolute disgrace. Wasnt put together properly, didnt match the design, had tacking showing, it literally looked like two badly made dresses sewn together. We were told a new one would be made, upon the next fitting to be told it had been altered instead. Just looking at the dress we could tell even though they had had it 2 weeks, it hadnt been touched!!! and the lace still missing too. This was about 2 weeks now before the wedding. Therefore the bridesmaid had to stand in the shop 2 and a half hours while a lady literally shredded and remade the dress. (if it wasnt for her we were stuck) It still wasnt right in the end, but we had no other option and it looked miles better then it was. But at the wedding her dress was starting to fall apart and also her shoes too. She was shoe-less for the night.

The lady who remade the dress is a blessing to the shop, but when a problem occurred the others disspeared and hid in the back. Also they would tell us they will ring us then they had dealt with the problem, tho we would ring at the end of the following day and they would tell us they have been "too busy" to ring. Therefore a day was lost, and wedding was getting closer. Althought everytime we went they were huddled in a back room.
