“Nice design, good light, very poor operation”

Written on: 27/04/2017 by GazzerUK (35 reviews written)

On the face of it this looks good. Nice bright wide beam. Comfortable. Adjustable up and down, as well as zoom. Nicely balanced. Well made. Looks good quality.

It is a nightmare to operate and the instructions make no sense whatsoever. There is a wheel at the rear with a button, and also a button on top of the light. A bewildering combination of illogical and unfathamable turns of the dial, presses of the rear button, presses of the front button are required for basic operation. Why they couldn't just have dial for brightness, and button for on/off I'll never know.

Another highly annoying 'feature' is that the light flashes 3 times every 15 seconds when it thinks the battery might be running down. In reality this happens after only about 30 minutes of total use from fresh batteries. A battery checker shows pleanty of life in the batteries, so you either have to suffer the irritating flashing, waste perfectly good batteries replacing with new ones, or turn it off.

This could have been a very good head torch, but it is severely let down by idiotic software programmers with no view of the real world.
