Good Points
I bought this drive in a hurry in July 2007 to replace a Samsung SP0802N which was rapidly developing bad sectors and making my PC unbootable. I installed Windoze XP onto it, copied all I could from the Samsung, and it's been perfect as my primary hard drive ever since. It's very quiet, faster than my old PC, and the DiskCheckup SMART monitoring program tells me it's in excellent health with 5,290 operating hours and 920 power cycles so far.

Bad Points
To be honest, I can't think of any. It installed easily and it unobtrusively keeps reliably doing its job, day in and day out. What more could I ask for?

General Comments
There's not a huge amount you can write about a hard drive. This one has completely filled my needs for a quiet totally reliable unit for 14 months so far. Seagate give a five year warranty which shows that they have faith in their product. I certainly recommend it.



Even so, after coming close to losing a lot of irreplaceable data when the Samsung drive started failing, these days I back up my entire primary drive to a Seagate FreeAgent USB drive once a week, which I store in a safe place away from the PC.
