“Swift Conqueror 645. Island bed version. ”

Swift Conqueror 645. Island bed version.

A few snags. Very disappointed that my (now) local Swift dealer say they can't carry out warranty work for a caravan bought elsewhere.

The battery life is completely pathetic. 7 - 10 days for a full battery with no services being used (in storage). I have a tracker fitted, and there is a PIR alarm installed. The tracker claims a 7 month life with full battery, and yes, I've got the biggest available capacity fitted. Could be a snag with the 'van, or the battery. Investigation ongoing.

The (wet) central heating system has failed. It was working fine, but failed when I really needed it on the frosty night last week. I've tried it with the 230v pump and the 12v, no luck. In the workshop now.

One of the wardrobe doors has warped so badly, the automatic light won't go off. Currently being held in the closed 'off' position by a taped on pad.

I worry about losing objects down the central heating outlet vents on the forward window sill. Why is there no mesh over these vents?

We love the island bed. I'm 6'2", and used to a king-size bed at home. The bedside shelves are great, except that they do encroach on the wardrobe space. This caravan bed is pretty good, despite the rounded corners. Love the full size 'fridge/freezer. Galley is ok, but don't put a hot pan on the worktop... Only a boiling water temperature - not a frying pan. Hmmm.

Toilet is ok. The Thetford unit frustrating to fill, and can't be done from inside. Capacity only just satisfactory. On board water cold water tank very useful. Shower is pretty good.

Plenty of roof lights. I've not used the front diner as a bedroom. It's a comfortable dayroom. I wish the TV and power outlets were mounted behind the TV in the bedroom and the lounge. The cables draped in front are rather messy.

It's a big unit, but tows well behind my Discovery.

Bottom line? Yes. I'd recommend it to a friend
