Good Points
Top class build quality
Super smooth action
A pleasure to ride
Great styling
Low seat height and light weight
It is a real confidence booster
Bad Points
At high revs the engine tends to "knock", which is a feature of the engine steady bracket and frame design, transmitting noise of an otherwise incredibly quiet engine.
They all do it I'm told.
General Comments
I was told the Yamaha Serow 225 was the best trail bike in the world, and the 250 seems to live up to the reputation.
Bought as a grey import from Riders of Yeovil, with 3000km on the clock, it has yet to miss a beat. It starts first touch of the button, and once warm it ticks over like a sewing machine. Only five gears this time, but the 250 engine does have more low down grunt than the 225, so Mr Yamaha "lost" sixth gear. I am looking forward to a long relationship with this bike.
