Sony MZ-RH1 Review - Ok as for someone who has been...”

Written on: 03/10/2008 by infrared technician (1 review written)

Good Points
As for me the LPCM mode,(28mins ,300meg on a std 80 min disc) or(90mins ,1gig on the hi MD disc) with a Rode mic used for field recordings is light simple and records as good as CD.

Bad Points
A bit fiddly for a beginner to get their head around, battery life while recording, nothing much though.

General Comments
Sony MZ-RH1 Review - Ok as for someone who has been recording in the field for 3 decades now this is one of the smallest recorders with a reasonable sound quality, endless memory "thanks to the MD discs"and LPCM encoding, easy to transfer the files to the computer, using the supplied Sonicstage software, and it works with Vista on my makes for a great starter kit for separate sound recording for video or even a podcast unit, asside from the typical uses as a portable mp3 player holding loads of tracks on a single 1gig disc.yes i know there are many other up and coming sound recorders now on the market but this has more than 1 use and not bad for the money. I'm sorry to say this im not a great Sony fan but on the odd occasion they come up with a useful item.
