Do Not Go To This Hotel Worst One On Island

Just come back from crete 2nd of sept 2012 Please read this article if you want a good holiday.Having arrived at the hotel from a late flight we arrived at the hotel about 12 30 pm after being held up airport. When we arrived there was nobody at the reception my husband walked around the hotel grounds trying to find somebody to say we had arrived but it was like the graveyard nobody in the hotel at all.then two ladies came in from outside and said the propieter had gone home leaving us stranded in the foyer my husband searched around till he found a booking form with our name on it and the no of our room keys after a search he found the keys we found the room bedded down for the night.Next morning found proprieter and his wife. The hotel was dirty corn flakes and musiesli. toast. ham. they had cats that where flea infested and we got bitten about ten times during the night each of us.The pool had green slime in the bottom building up. No depths warnings on pool side which is a danger if you have young children we complained to our holiday advisor and said we wanted to be moved out as soon as possible they were great they moved us out that first evening There is no tea making equipment in the rooms you have to hire fridges pay for air con There were no other staff other than man and wife team there is no music playing anywhere to make the hotel feel homely.there were no life saving rings around pool area.they mention a wellbeing area but if you want to walk down a dark corridor with no lights to turn on to find the room then you put your foot in something that you cannot see in front of you fine i could not get out of there fast enough. so people please please do not book this nightmare hotel. and i mean nightmare.the service was appauling

Attention: Avoid Aloi

My boyfriend and I recently returned from a 7 night stay at the Aloi Hotel in Hersonissos and we were not completely satisfied at all! I wanted to write this review to make sure that no one else has the experiences we had at this hotel. From the facilities to the staff, there were a number of problems during our stay.

Upon Arrival

•One member of staff present at reception who did not seem prepared for our arrival, he wasn’t aware of my name until I handed him a document from Monarch with my details.

•Informed us on breakfast times and a/c charge only.

Breakfast

•Poor variety. Two options of cereal, ham and cheese. Halved hard boiled eggs (cold) and salad? One loaf of bread was expected to be shared between all guests, no toaster was available either.

Room

•Promised a room that was suited for up to three people, the room we were actually given was rather small and compact. Little space around the double bed which took up most of the room.

•Extremely small shower space in the bathroom, no window or fan to ventilate the room. Became extremely stuffy and unpleasant.

•When fridge was plugged in it became very hot which added heat to the already humid room.

Hygiene & Safety

•There was a rusty nail sticking out from the frame of the door way leading from the room to the balcony (a poor attempt to file it down had appeared to have been made). This was actually stepped on at one point causing discomfort.

•Pool had no shallow end and the water seemed to be quite green in areas. We did not swim at any point of our stay in this pool.

•Our room was cleaned only once in our entire weeks stay which resorted to us having to ask staff for essentials as simple as toilet paper. By the end of the week our bins were overflowing, we had no fresh towels or bedding since our room was cleaned 5 days prior.

•Bathroom sink was wobbly, not properly secured into the wall.

•The hotel’s general toilet facilities were poorly kept, humid with dozens of flies in each cubicle.

Staff

•Throughout our whole 7 day stay, we only ever saw three members of hotel staff.

•A female member seemed to be responsible for both catering and cleaning of the hotel as well as sitting at reception. No sign of a maid.

•One of the two male staff made his first approach to us on our very last day. We had only briefly seen him at the bar late at night. This gentleman was extremely rude and had an aggressive manner. Not at any point of our stay were we informed of our check out time until he came knocking on our door vigorously demanding that we had to be packed and out of our room in 10 minutes! We were completely appalled as we weren’t due to leave till 1:30am the next day. For 13 hours we had no room, therefore had no way of showering and we were expected to change and wash in the grim toilets in the basement of the hotel.

•No clear idea of who actually owned the premises.

•All staff spoke English poorly and did not seem to acknowledge or take our complaints seriously.

Hidden Charges

•Apparently it was 5 euros per day to use the fridge in our room. We used the fridge everyday to chill our bottles of water which was essential. Not at any point were we informed of this charge rate until the rude male member of staff (as previously mentioned) told us right after he chucked us out of our room. He had noticed that our fridge was chilled and figured we had been using it and began demanding the week’s worth of money for using it. We explained how no other member of staff had informed us about this charge and fortunately he seemed to let it pass. I have never known any hotel to charge for the use of the fridge, its utterly ridiculous.

Location

•The hotel is very isolated from other hotels and restaurants. At least a 5 minute walk to the beach which itself wasn’t fantastic, very rocky and full of seaweed. Another 15-20 minute walk to get to any form of a decent Greek restaurant and a further 30 minute walk to get to the nearest sandy, clear water beach.

•You will most likely need to pay for taxis or hire a car/moped/quad to reduce these distances.

•Parts of beach are occupied by other hotels, therefore you won’t be able to use their sun chairs.

•Not a resort I would recommend to people around our age (21/22 years). No form of nightlife at all and absolutely nothing to do in the day.

Have Just Back From Staying At This Hotel And Was

Have just back from staying at this hotel and was even worse than i was expecting. Breakfast very poor, either cereal, toast or cheese and salami. If you want cooked breakfast you have to pay extra for it. Pool looks vey inviting, but no shallow end so not suitable for children. Rooms very basic, with towels only changed every 4days and bedlinen once a week.Very quiet hotel which didnt mind to much, but not much else to do around the location. Beaches very poor, with large stones to deal with as you go in the sea. Beaches much nicer at Malia, with great swimming and nice beach bar. Would not recommend hotel unless you are looking for a very quiet location.Lots of cats and flys about at hotel and rooms not even up to 2* standards. Weather was brilliant thou so not all bad comments to make!

The Anissaras, Aloi Hotel Is Typically Greek And V

The Anissaras, Aloi Hotel is typically greek and very laid back just what is needed when one has a very hectic lifestyle we loved it the staff bent over backwards and jumped through hoops to make our stay as pleasant as possible the main town is just a short taxi ride away but lovely beaches and bars are just a short walk from the hotel although everything you need is at the hotel lovely pool beautifull gardens and wonderfull greek dishes are offered every day as well as the english food that the unadventurous seem to insist upon.

The Best Hotel My Girlfriend And I Have Ever Staye

The best hotel my girlfriend and I have ever stayed. Aloi Hotel is situated in a small area called Anissaras which is quiet and excellent for families and couples and children. Pool was cleaned every day and the food at nights was perfect cooked by Gabi and her husband Martin who updates the website on a regular basis. Perfect. even cats were nice. Rooms were cleaned on a rota basis and the view of the beach was mouthwatering. We shall go back again and again and again.

We Booked On The Net With No Pictures Of The Apart

We booked on the net with no pictures of the apartments, I know why now the whole place is a bit run down, time it had a re fit., the best bit was the weather and beach. The hotel is a mile a way from anything. Don't get me wrong, I am not royalty, but the money we pay now you expect that little bit more from your holiday. Wont be staying there for again, not in my life time.

I Have Just Returned From A Two Week Stay. The Hot

I have just returned from a two week stay. The hotel is bliss, very quiet and peaceful. Even though we'd only booked on a B & B basis, we ended up eating in the hotel nearly everynight as the food and service were so good. The manageress, is very welcoming and runs an excellent establishment.
