“What a shame. We were a party of 8 who were so...”

Good Points
Hmmm, struggling here! They have some great Peroni beer glasses, and our waitress was very helpful.

Bad Points
Where do I start? In a nutshell, the food was terrible! We had to send a main course back as it was inedible, and the potatoes had clearly been reheated. The service was awful.

General Comments
What a shame. We were a party of 8 who were so looking forward to this evening. The food was poor, the decor in the 'add on' room bland and cold (the main pub area was very nice), but the worst aspect was the customer service. I think the chef needs a bit more experience in simpler dishes before branching out - there were far too many flavours competing on the plate, and basic elements were missing - fresh veg for example. After all the time and hard work that must have been put in by Jamie Oliver and the chef and his wife, we were so disappointed by the whole experience at The Cock Inn. Something must be done, otherwise I see this failing and that would be such a shame. Two of our party had been there for Sunday lunch and said it was good, so maybe worth a visit for that. Whatever you do don't complain though, as you will be met with stony silence by the maitre'd!!!
