“I've got the last of the mark ones on a h reg if I was...”

written by pajerojoe1987 on 15/12/2007

Good Points
Offroading capabilities are excellent puts land rover discoverys to shame. Auto box is good on road especially on motorways and even better when driving offroad! For a 1991 vehicle the interior in the pajero is almost like a 99/00 4x4 from other manufacturers: elc windows/ a/c /thermometer inside and out mines even got a voltmeter fitted.the list of good points could go on and on. That said, i don't think i'd be tempted by any other 4x4 manufacturers similar model. My 2.5 swb 1991 pajero even shows up my mates 2003 l200 offroad and in a simple road drag race.....when offroading i've towed him out plenty of times!

Bad Points
The only real worry with the pajero is the body roll on road going around corners....my rear springs are due to be replaced so this will cur it to a certain degree.top speed not great but then why would you wanna hack along at 110mph when you can sit back with autobox doing its work and cruise comfortably at 60-70 at 2500 rpm.!!! Also be aware I find my pajero doesn't exactly like the water so trying to follow those defenders and hilux's through lakes really doesn't work!

General Comments
I've got the last of the mark ones on a h reg if I was to buy another pajero when this one ends its life i wouldn't be tempted to going to a 2.8 later model....I would invest in the early mark 2 which has a 2.5 t intercooled lump the same as the mark1. You normally find this model on a late h reg or j reg.
