I canceled my account with them. The below paragraph is what I left for them in my comments as the reason why.
"Using third-party booking sites like you (Booking.com), and others is a total RIP OFF. My flight from Florida to Texas was canceled and rebooked 2 days in a row by Delta due to the Tornados in GA. I had to go through Atlanta to get to TX and they were unable to get me there due to the extreme weather and aftermath. I eventually realized I was not going to make the trip because Delta kept pushing my flight to the next day and by the time I would get there my business meetings would be over. We have No control over the weather!!!! I called and explained my situation to the agent at Booking.com. He said he would call the hotel and see if they would cancel the reservation without charge. He then came back and said no, the hotel said they would not cancel and I would have to pay if I didn't keep the reservation. I then immediately called the hotel myself and explained to them what my situation was and they said they would agree to cancel due to their own company policy for extreme weather situations like this and travel disturbances. They were very nice, understanding and accommodating with my circumstances. Then the hotel also informed me that Booking.com is the one who made the decision to not cancel my reservation, not them. So essentially you lied to me and took advantage of me while I was in a bad situation that was out of my control, in the name of making a little money off my bad fortune. To top it off, the agent on the phone told me... Quote..." You can just submit your expenses to the airlines and they will reimburse you for the hotel charges." REALLY?! So that's your reason for refusing to cancel? Because the airlines will pay for it anyways?! FYI... there is NO guarantee that they will and then, I get left with the expenses if they don't! When I called Booking.com back and asked to speak with a MGR about this, I was told they are busy and not available for me, and asked, "what is it that I need?" I have only used Booking.com a few times and for a moment, I thought you were actually going to be a decent and better alternative to all the other third party Travel sites on the internet. I just found out that your not! Your company and business practices are a DISGRACE and FRAUDULENT!!! You just lost a customer FOREVER!!! Plus anyone I know who travels with me will surely hear this story. You better learn how to treat you customers and do what's right by them because I will tell you this.... People Are Not as Stupid as your own employees and agents are, who are trying to SHAM your customers! Good Riddance!! Sincerely, A Former Customer"
