“For the money this is the best HD Ready TV you can buy...”

written by ScottRamsay on 10/01/2007

Good Points
Amazing price, excellent picture quality with the right kit, large array of inputs including - Component, DVI, VGA, SCART & RF.

Bad Points
Sound not great, as this is an HD Ready television with a high native resolution image quality is poorer via standard definition inputs.

General Comments
For the money this is the best HD Ready TV you can buy for a smaller room (bedroom, kitchen, study, etc). When you put an HD source through this you really see the difference. It's clear, crisp and beautiful. Picture from the internal DVD player is competent enough, but since this is not an HD source it suffers from not being up to the native resolution. The same can be said when you attach a Freeview box.

Set up is easy and the remote and on screen menu are self explanatory for anyone who has operated a TV in the last 10 years. For those that are technophobic the manual is clear enough to follow. The internal DVD player was easily converted to multi-region via a hack and has played every disc I have thrown at it - All region DVD, DVD+R, DVD-R, CDR. It does not play Divx files.

My unit did not have any "dead pixels" like the other reviewer, although this can be an issue with any LCD device.

Overall it the current price point of £249 you cannot go wrong. A fantastic bit of kit at an amazing price.
