“Only aims to help himself”

written by RJW83 on 26/02/2017

Complaint:
* bad communication, for example, your dentist doesn't explain the action that is about to be taken,
* the dentist doesn't get valid consent from you before treatment - I did not know what he was doing.
* past discrimination, for example, a dentist refuses to treat you just because of my disability.

I am a patient who gets free NHS dentist work.

The last time I was here, in 2016 he did some abrasive work to my teeth. I have never experienced this before. I trusted his judgement and let him proceed. But now, nearly a year later I am experiencing great sensitivity to the area he applied, what felt like a sander on my teeth. I have found out he has taken away the enamel of my teeth. I now have problems biting into something cold. Such as an apple, or an orange.

I believe members of his family wouldn't appreciate someone taking away the enamel of their teeth, just as I didn't appreciate Dr taking away the enamel of my teeth.

Acting as he has done implies he is trying to drum up business, and make me need further dental work. From this work he then has reason to get paid. I do not aim to act as an improved source of his income.

I am disabled. I believe Dr has taken advantage of me being disabled and who has willing to put faith into allowing him to do his work.

Additionally, in the past communication with other staff members has been difficult. They need to do some heavy duty training learning how to willingly want to help customers; learning 'customer service'.

I would rather not have provided any rating, but I have been required to provide a rating. Essentially I do not rate Dr to be any good. He only aims to help himself.

I am in a social and financially vulnerable position to be able to seek to resolve this situation with this business. I need help. I would like to know how to make an official complaint. I would appreciate if readers would reply and explain how I can officially complain about his actions.
