“Northern Thailand”

This was a 10 day tour of Nothern Thailand , the group consisted of 17 people, couples and singles. Hotel accommodation was mixed, hotels in Chang Rai and Bangkok very good standard and interesting one in Soukouthai. But the one in Nan was very basic and not near the town and rather isolated. The local guide Anu was excellent and very knowledgeable and really went the extra mile to make the holiday interesting. Unfortunately the visit to a tea plantation was not possible due to the Chinese New Year and we really saw very few people from the hill tribes. The Thai air flights were good and being able to select seats at no cost prior to departure was good. Rather too much time was spent in coaches travelling between towns and I think Chang Mai would have been a better choice the start of the holiday. Home departure by people carrier to Heathrow was excellent as was the return journey as both ways I was the sole passenger.
