“The Creative Zen Sleek Photo has excellent sound...”

Written on: 06/09/2006 by cog (2 reviews written)

The Creative Zen Sleek Photo has excellent sound quality, with a six stage equaliser including presets, a dynamic sound setting which keeps the volume level when there is normally a sharp drop or rise on that track, and a bass boost which works well, although some distortion can sometimes be heard with it on. It has an FM radio with plenty of presets and a fairly good reception. There is a huge 19 hour rechargeable battery which can be charged from the mains or via a computer USB port. And it is reliable and easy to use, with well laid out controls, including a good touch pad, and lots of options for searching the music library.

The only major bad point is the price. The normal retail price is £220, and the price seems worth it for the features, but when you consider that Creative also sell Zen Micro MP3 players which have similar specifications and are between £40 to £80 cheaper, the price seems a bit too much. Normally I would not have considered buying it, but I got it for half price in a clearance sale.

I have tried to find the US price of it, but I found a lot of different prices available.

The computer software for the Creative Zen Sleek Photo MP3 player is easy to use, and media can be added through the specially designed uploader where you select media to upload, and it does everything in one go, or you can just use copy and paste in Windows explorer. Also, another benefit is that media can still be copied to and from computers which do not have the software installed. The player has a calender and a personal organiser, and there is also a built-in microphone. For viewing photos the screen is very bright and clear, but it would be better if it was slightly larger.
