“The shelter is good for keeping dry and cooking, but...”

written by sallyswim on 20/08/2008

Good Points
Very nice location and a well stocked shop.

Bad Points
The bar stayed open until 1am with karaoke. Drunks were then around until 3am, tripping over guy ropes & swearing. Even during the early evening there was a fair number of drunks wandering around giving the camping ground a threatening feel. We asked for a refund as the notices state "no noise after 10.30pm" yet the noise was coming from the campsite bar and we got it but with extremely bad grace. We also had a meal in the bar which wasn't very good- really salty.

General Comments
The shelter is good for keeping dry and cooking, but overall I would not recommend this campsite for West Highland Way walkers, families or anyone who wants to get a night's sleep. There were lots of foreigners on the site and the behaviour of some of the drunken locals made me feel quite ashamed of British culture.
