“What great trash TV! If you've been living in a cave...”

written by PixieOfDoom on 04/01/2007

What great trash TV! If you've been living in a cave for 3 years the premise is thus: Susan (Teri Hatcher), Bree (Marcia Cross), Lynette (Felicity Huffman) and Gabrielle (Eva Longoria) all live on the same street in suburban America. Susan is divorced with a teenage daughter and she works from home and the other 3 are stay-at-home housewives. Susan is high maintenance, a bit neurotic and extremely clumsy, she provides much of the comic relief. Bree is a neat freak who is obsessed with keeping up the appearance of perfection. Lynette is an ex-career woman raising four badly behaved children and desperate to get back to work. Gabrielle is an ex-model who married for money and is now very unhappy. When their friend kills herself they get involved in trying to find out why. The first series revolves around this plotline while series two begins to go off on all sorts of tangents and the start of series three sees another murder/disappearance. There is intrigue, romance, crime, affairs, relationship difficulties, badly behaved children and any sort of trashy or comical situtation you can imagine.

Series two lagged a bit midway through, but the start of series three was a blast and it looks to be back to full force again for an hour a week of completely escapist viewing.
