“This Samick OM-7 acoustic guitar is from the Greg...”

written by grayn on 27/05/2006

Good Points
Now this is exactly what you want from an orchestra model style guitar. A warm, even, ringing tone to suit almost all styles of acoustic guitar playing. A workhorse that has many aspects of the purebred. Whether you pluck with fingernails, plectrum/pick or your knuckles, this guitar will respond very nicely.

Bad Points
That large "S" logo, on the head.

General Comments
This Samick OM-7 acoustic guitar is from the Greg Bennett range, made in Indonesia. It's a 20 fretter, with the neck joining body at the 14th fret. The top is solid cedar. The back and sides are rosewood (probably laminated). The neck is mahogany, with a rosewood fretboard and bridge.. The soundhole has abalonesque decor, with a nice tortoiseshell(like) scratchplate. These all come together to create a rather gorgeous, Martinesque style guitar, with creamy binding and a nicely, rosewwod fronted, headstock.

This guitar blows away all competition in it's price range and probably most that is 2, 3 and 4 times the price.

Don't believe me? Try one.
