“Somewhat dubious about buying this vehicle after 6 yrs...”

written by marloglen on 19/03/2007

Good Points
Load carrying capacity, sliding rear passenger doors, lively performance and fuel economy.

Bad Points
Vibration through gear changes, to tall to go in my garage (have also encountered a problem at 1 multi-storey car park - broke radio aerial), would prefer larger seats, noisy engine when cold.

General Comments
Somewhat dubious about buying this vehicle after 6 yrs with Vectra 2 litre (used as tow car) sold the old caravan and while looking for replacement c/van, Vectra failed MOT, costly, unable to afford another c/van and tow car, and as old age creeping closer we decided on a change of transport. The Partner was on offer at an affordable price, different to what we were used to but decided to go for it. Not sorry, in the 9 months we have had it it has proved a very versatile vehicle, once you get used to driving what is basically a converted van with a chunky 1.9 diesel engine and a bit of vibration due to the "van format" it becomes almost pleasurable, we have used it on motorways at 60+ mph with 4 people + luggage, town driving on daily basis, economy , not bad, 45+ mpg, overall we are pleased with it, but think I miss caravaning and might have to consider a change when finance permits.
