Bad Points
Its surface peels easily and/or gets rusty. There is no way to access a filter so if a button falls off during the washing there is no way you can retrieve it like you would do it in any normal washing machine. You would have to pay for a Hotpoint engineer to retrieve for you. Parts don;t last long. Very noisy when doing the fast spin eventhough it is claimed to be a super silent machine. Very bad value for money!!
General Comments
I am a single person so I just use my washing machine once or twice per week. However, my Hotpoint WD640 has needed two major repairs in two years. The first one took place just three months after I bought and the second one, less than two years later. On both accasions the whole circuit board had to be changed,. It is a very difficult machine to fix so your local washing machine service won't be able to do the job, Therefore, you have to contact Hotpoint if you have any trouble with the machine. This can be quite expensive! My sister bought exactly the same machine almost at the same time as I did. She has experienced lots of problems with it as well.
