Good Points
Lovely location and exterior of the building very good.
Bad Points
A bit hit and miss. Service friendly but without any finesse. Standard of interior decor quite good but small details - plastic table mats and menu covers - made it feel more like a high street chippie than an aspirational restaurant. Food - soft poached egg with first course was hard boiled - vegetables served with main course were burnt and the carrots looked bad as well as being totally over cooked. However, the plaice I had for my main course was very good. Liver on the other hand over cooked, bit tubie and quite tough (requested medium). Staff quite scruffy with grubby uniforms and unkempt hair.
General Comments
Could be a great mid-price restaurant, but needs attention to fine details like improving turn out and skills of waiting staff. Obviously someone in the kitchen can cook, but let down by very poor veg. Get rid of the tacky menus and plastic place mats - these don't fit in with the obvious effort that's gone into the interior design of the restaurant.
