“I flew out from LAX on the way out, and it is a much...”

Good Points
Easier to drive to than LAX, American Airlines has an Admiral's Club and good customer service over lost bags.

Bad Points
Airport is cleaner than others, but still not up to as good as DFW, LAX's Terminals 4 and 5. Tickets are VERY expensive. Flights are overbooked, and baggage is always lost. There is the demand to operate to John Wayne on a 767, but due to noise restrictions and small runways, all they can use is a 737.

General Comments
I flew out from LAX on the way out, and it is a much nicer airport, despite having a long commute. From LAX the flight wasn't overbooked, and we were upgraded to First. The seat choice was limited on the flight back to Orange County. The Admirals club is nice, but not as nice as the one at LAX. Our bags got lost, and even though American Airlines did all they could to get them through, we didn't get them until 10am the next morning. Heed my warning, and do not use John Wayne. If possible, go to LAX or Long Beach
