Good Points
The double paper trays.
CD printing tray.
Speed.

Bad Points
Cost of ink.
Black & White printing has slight colour cast.

General Comments
For the money it is hard to believe the quality and performance of the Canon Pixma iP4200 printer. Unlike other peoples reports I have actually managed to buy alternative ink products for back up, but as of yet not tried them, although I have every confidence they will work. The only issue I have been told I will have with them is, warning lights when the cartridge is empty will not light, so I will have to rely on visual inspection.

The crazy thing is, if you were to buy the full set of 5 inks at high street prices, it would be cheaper to buy a complete new printer off the web. You can buy Canon inks for £6.99 off the web and compatibles for around £3.00. www.7dayshop.com.

Buy this printer or the 4300 which I think is the replacement (although not sure please check this out for yourself).

My daughter will be having a new one for Christmas to use as her own dedicated printer.

Use quality ink jet paper to get the best out of the machine the thicker paper seems to suit the printer best
