Having had it suggested to me that an umbrella company be the best way to go I was disgusted to find out my agreed rate of pay was not true. The umbrella company deducted money before my gross pay was then dealt with.
Funny enough, being a school teacher and not an employment law solicitor or tax consultant I was unaware of such practice. I have gone back to PAYE with hays but my gross has been dropped because it is apparently calculated differently.
I know nothing about any of this, none of it was explained and I am in the hands of people who just want to fill a post at any cost.
Their staff don't really know what they are talking about when it comes to the nitty grtty of this situation.
Having now researched the problem I can see that there is a lot of outrage about umbrella companies, so why was one ever mentioned or suggested to me?
It's still not resolved and yet on my part I was selected for my post on my first interview having beaten five other candidates.
Hayes come across as a cheap high street rent a crowd outfit and not as pro employment agency.
