“Christmas present to my parents was ruined by Interflora”

As I live some distance from my parents, at Christmas time I often send their presents through the post, because I can't always get away to see them. This year I decided to send them a nice bunch of flowers for delivery on Christmas Eve.

I chose Interflora because of their nationwide coverage and ability to deliver on set dates/times. I've used them before and received a decent service. This time I ordered their "Winter Wishes Hand-tied" bouquet. Wishes?....I wished I hadn't! The flowers, delivered by one of the company's "approved" providers turned up in a dreadful state and lasted less than a day. There was also no plant feed to accompany the flowers. Not that this mattered because of the appalling state of the bouquet. A relative, on seeing the bouquet, immediately contacted Interflora to complain.

Interflora agreed to refund my order. However when I contacted the company, although they agreed to refund the costs, I got the impression that the apology was halfhearted and given grudgingly. There was no offer to rectify the matter and provide another bouquet. They were aware that this was a Christmas present to my parents which they had totally ruined, but their attitude was very casual and indifferent. Overall it was a disappointing and meaningless apology from the company. But hey - they are a big company and probably couldn't care less.

Interflora provided a service that fell well short of acceptable standards. The flowers, given the poor state they were in, were a real rip off. I won't use Interflora again and will in future stick to local florists who I'm sure will provide a much better service.

So my advice is avoid this company. Give your trade to your local florists. I'm sure they will take the care and attention to provide fresh, nicely cut flowers and not the rubbish which was sent to my parents. Interflora - thanks for nothing.
