“Useless, incompetent, go elsewhere”

written by QWERTY1000 on 21/12/2016

Have been with Vodafone approx 6 years, and have 5 mobile accounts with them for the whole family. Up until the last 18 months everything was great until they migrated onto new IT systems, after which everything has been a complete nightmare. Theres too much to go into on a review website so I'll try to summarise:

1) Giving your money to Vodafone is almost impossible and hard work! After trying to order several new phones (upgrades or early upgrades), and an iPad Pro on a data contract I've clocked up over 40 hours (thats no exaggeration) dealing with their 'customer services' due to numerous reasons (phone not delivered, orders inexplicably cancelled with no reason given or communication because thats the only way they can fix the problem, handsets sent to the wrong address, orders stuck in the system as they cannot seem to deliver to their own stores (!!! I kid you not!), being told devices on '1 to 2 weeks' backorder, to then be told they are on 20 working days back order, then not being able to get a delivery at all, that the supplier are having problems with stock, despite being able to buy them with no problem from the high street).

2) Absolutely dreadful mobile signal and coverage, not being able to make calls, calls dropping off, unable to have phone conversations, 3G/4G signal bouncing up and down, texts disappearing into black holes, texts arriving days after sending them

3) Incorrect billing - being charged for services not received, charged for orders cancelled by Vodafone and then not received (see above), being charged for the wrong data package, taking money when unauthorized to do so (breaching direct debit guarantee), taking months to provide refunds requiring threat of legal action before anything is done.

4) Mobile number being given to Vodafone 'partners' and then being rung up all hours of the day by companies pretending to be from Vodafone but are actually affiliates, despite opting out of marketing calls, texts etc

5) 'Customer Services' more than useless, whose favourite phrase seems to be 'assuredly I will fix this problem for you' [bad grammer is theirs, this is what they actually say], saying everything will be fixed in '24 to 48 hours' and then it never is, providing completely contradictory information, have no clue what is going on with anything.

And that is just the summary...............

If you're thinking of joining Vodafone my simple (and probably obvious!) recommendation is don't do it. Save yourself the pain, a root canal without anaesthetic would be better for you then using Vodafone.
