“Sonic was a classic game in history. Now, it's been...”

written by Matty2 on 17/04/2007

Good Points
Old sonic gameplay
Good storyline
Takes advantage of the dual-screen feature

Bad Points
Not much of a challenge and not long
Too repetitive
Might be a bit too much with the screen's lights changing colour so fast while Sonic's running
3D graphics leave a bit to be desired

General Comments
Sonic was a classic game in history. Now, it's been brought back through modern technology and is brought onto two screens, rushing up one and down the other, zipping right and left the defeat the evil Dr. Eggman (Dr. Robotnik) and another equally vicious villian. Sonic also meets a new face around town, who knows nothing of happiness, joy, or friendship.

Sonic's old-game style is back which will make a few people happy. A rather new feature is the 3D battles with Dr. Eggman's (Dr. robotnik's) electronic disasters on wheels! Sonic has to beat them the old-fashioned way, knocking them around and making Fr Eggman (Dr. Robotnik) cry, and dash away!

Unfortunately, the 3D graphics aren't something to gasp in amazement at. In fact, it could be called "terribly pixelated" to some people. You can still see what's happening, though.

A nice new storyline introduced Sonic to a new friend and a new foe, who have been out of their world, and if they don't return pronto, the worlds will collapse together and everything will cease to be. This storyline introduces the element of science in the area of dimensions, in which it focuses on a few of the theories of the fourth dimension, time, space and parallel universes.

Now, the actual levels do seem a bit repetitive. It seems like your going through the same thing over and over again. Also, the light's on the screen when Sonic's running full pelt may not be advisable for people who have weak or sensitive eyes.

Sonic Rush is good if you're looking for a old style Sonic game with an interesting storyline, but not if you want quality level, and this game is out of the question if you have bad eyes.
