Good Points
Spacious, practical, versatile, and a good engine.
Bad Points
Unreliable electrics!
Heavy on fuel but it's a big car.
General Comments
Have had my Ford Galaxy 2.3 Ghia in and out of the workshops so many times I can't count, to have the air conditioning looked at. Ford finally replaced the whole system. Out of warranty now and it's packed up again!
Likewise the windscreen wiper motor regularly blew fuses (Ford said we must have tried using the wipers when they were frozen to the screen, we hadn't) but after numerous times in the workshop to have a fault find on it, they replaced the motor, now less than two years on, and the motor has packed up again!
Intermittent fault with central locking which immobilises the car for no reason, can sometimes take 10 minutes before it will start. Has been into the workshop numerous times throughout its history but they've not been able to pinpoint the fault!
Other than these electrical faults, the car has been great for what it was designed for. It is very comfortable on long journeys (except in hot weather) and has been a real workhorse.
