Good Points
Looks good and when the V-TEC kicks in, the car comes into its own.
Bad Points
Hasn't got great pull throughout the rev range and you really feel the road (can be annoying on long journeys or commuting).
General Comments
Overall I really like the Honda Civic 2.0 Type R, it looks great and the value for money can't be beat. At 6,000 revs the V-TEC kicks in and the Type-R really shows what it can do, it is just a shame you have to get to 6,000 revs before that kicks in.
The gear stick, which I thought I wouldn't like, I now love. The position is perfect for quick gear changes and means you can keep both hands on the wheel a lot more of the time. The handling is good but you will have to treat it smoothly at speed as there are no driver aids, but this would appeal to purists who enjoy taking total control of a car.
In summary, for under £20,000 new, it is unlikely you will find a car that betters the Type-R in terms of looks or performance.
