General Comments
First Plus Loans have been the worst company I have ever had the displeasure to speak to. Asked for a redemption figure which you now have to do by fax. I was told It would take two weeks, by which then another monthly payment was due. Paid the monthly payment, and they took two, one in barclays name, the other in first plus. Asked for a refund which took 3 days, and queried redemption figure as we had now been waiting 3 weeks. Finally received figure, and settled within a week.
First plus started ringing last week (Three weeks after payment made in full) for another monthly payment and claimed they had not received the money, and we are talking 30K! They finally agreed after many phone calls they had the money but would not apply it to settle the account as they claim we owe a months money. So, in summary they have had 30k sat in a bank account for three weeks, and won't clear our account unless we pay a further monthly payment. Complaint procedure is a joke and some customer service advisor's are arrogant, rude and fickle.
We only had the loan for 2 years and have had to pay off more than 5 grand than we initially borrowed and have been paying nearly 400 per month. Glad to see the back of this Co. Carol Vordaman should be ashamed to front First Plus.
I wouldn't recommend this Co to my worst enemy.
