“We ordered from the specials menu and the meal came to...”

Good Points
The prawn starter was nice.

Bad Points
Everything else I thought was just really average, and vastly overpriced.

General Comments
We ordered from the specials menu and the meal came to over £70 for two, the food simply came nowhere near to justifying the cost. The prawn starter was nice but it was all downhill from there I'm afraid, the main meals arrived with 2 naan breads (barely warm), now I don't think I'm being unreasonable to expect a garlic naan to taste of garlic but ours just didn't. The chicken curry had 4 pieces of chicken, (yes I counted them) but when I paid £14 I think I should expect a bit more then that. (I should mention that the curry was probably the blandest I've ever tasted too)

Time for something positive - the rice was nice (although you can't really go wrong with rice can you?).

The desserts are clearly an afterthought and appeared to have just been bought in from the nearest supermarket (which is a bit much at the best part of £5 each).

The service was average, we weren't asked if we would like coffee or dessert when our empty plates were taken away, how long would we have been left sitting had we not asked??

The restaurant itself is quite cramped, we were seated next to the huge staircase which dominates the downstairs, unfortunatley this was also directly in line from the kitchen to the rest of the room so we had waiters constantly walking within a foot of our table, ducking under the stairs and leaning over our table - not good on a romantic valentines meal!

All in all this place just struck me as a prime example of style over substance, the food was not terrible but the portions were just ridiculous for the price. If you want good quality Indian food at half the price I would recommend any of the other Indian places in the city (try Latifs or The Raj).
