Good Points
Like all the facilities on the unit.
Bad Points
I don't watch or record many Disks but when I do I find the unit doesn't recognise them.
In fact, Liteon even suggested I try a firmware upgrade (which would be OK if the machine accepted disks!!!)
Come on Liteon, admit the drive is rubbish & do a proper repair job.
General Comments
Unit co9ming up on 3 years old & it's been back 4 times for DVD drive replacement. Same problem each time & looking around the web it is a common fault with the Liteon LVW-5045 - SO WHY DON'T LITEON SORT IT?
This time I was told it would be a chargeable repair so I bought a different brand.
With nothig to lose & a spare DVD-RW in an old desktop, I decided to see if it would work. Lid off, unplug the old player, plug in the new unit...
Everything works perfectly.
Had to attack bits of the machine to get the new unit in & the drawer front is held onto the new writer with sticky pads but I now have a spare machine for use in another room & with easily replaceable (and cheap) DVD RW. The new writer is a Pioneer DVR107DB
