“I would have no qualms about recommending the Gibson...

Written on: 01/07/2008 by MalcolmPorter (1 review written)

Good Points
Recent guitars are of very good quality - all-round finish is good. This is a workhorse guitar that gives you pretty much everything that the Standard does, but at half the price. Also, you won't worry so much about playing this one hard!
The tone is excellent and it will sustain a note while you go off and make a cup of tea.

Bad Points
Upper fret access has always been a limitation on the Les Paul - but hey, with this tone I can live with it.

General Comments
I would have no qualms about recommending the Gibson Les Paul Studio guitar, and certainly I'd buy a replacement if anything should happen to mine. As I say, the latest guitars (2008) seem to be of high quality so now is the time to treat yourself (you know it makes sense!).
