Good Points
Practical. Open the back door and put it in. Washing machines, 3m long lenghts of timber. Lots of room, 7 seats and storage space.
Stong, can tow a heavy trailer just don't forget it's there.
Good non dealership garage network and Extra bits if needed.
Bad Points
Reliability
Cost of Servicing.
General Comments
I bought my Land Rover Discovery 200 2.5 TDi when doing up a house. You can chuck most things in it and it does not complain, many bags of cement, timber and now even Children !
The height road position is addictive, the size means that BMW drivers don't fight too much.
It happily trundled around France last year.
At 13 years old it is now beginning to rust inside the doors and inside the wheel arches. 126K and second gear is getting interesting to select.
It has been towed in to the garage 4 times, 2 electrical fault, one head gasket and one peg fell out of the low ratio gearbox.
I use a garage full of Landrover fans near Rickmansworth and they do a good job. I love it! It's me! I am just not sure I can justify the servicing costs on another one. : -( Can't find much else to replace it with though
