“We decided to get a new coffee maker, we initially...”

written by secretagentmole on 23/02/2011

We decided to get a new coffee maker, we initially looked at the Senseo type but decided that the better way to go was to get an espresso machine. The cheapest at the time was the Treviso and we got one from Argos.

Well out of the box I was impressed by the size of the machine, very compact. I also liked the design. Well from the off we had problems finding the best coffee for the machine but by a happy coincidence Lavazza had a promotion on at Morrisons so we got that brand.

Please note, if you buy one of these machines please buy Lavazza coffee, the ultra fine grind works superbly with this machine. Take it from a cappuchino addict, this works superbly.

The machine has a pump that delivers a good supply to the coffee holder. This delivers a good constant stream and responds quickly to the switch. The frother works well but there is a secret to it that I will now share with you.

There is a lip on the frother at the end of the bell chamber, only put it that far in the milk! Also bleed the water off into a separate cup, wait until you get a good blast of steam through it before you put the milk under it. Froths up like a demon, trust me!

So to sum up a great machine, just use Lavazza fine ground espresso machine coffee (various rtpes, espresso, cafe rost and decaffinated for a start), bleed off the water before frothing the milk and only hold the frother in to the lip on the bell, happy coffee!!!!!!!!!!
