Received my car insurance renewel quote from the Post Office, this was £220.
Did searches via two internet search engines, and amongst the lists were quotes from the Post Office which were CHEAPER than my renewel quote.
Went onto the Post Office insurance website, and filled in details to get a quote......came back at £182 !
Funnily enough, the reference number for the online quotation was the same number as my current policy number!
Phoned the renewel line, and said that I would renew, but there must have been some mistake, as the internet quote was £38 cheaper than they were wanting to charge me!
Customer service rep gave me some bull about "That quote is 10% dicount for new customers only" (obviously he isn't good at maths)then tried to "work out a better deal for me", which came back at £208.
The customer service rep wouldn't budge on this.
I made it clear a few times that I would be prepared to leave and go somewhere else for my insurance, but he wasn't prepared to honor my online quote, and I ended up telling him that I would not be renewing it for another year.
So it's Bye Bye Post Office Insurance, I can get it cheaper elsewhere!
