Good Points
All-inclusive package will literally cater for every need
Salou itself is a vibrant, child friendly resort without the hooligan element
Bad Points
Distance from hotel to beach warrents using some form of transport
General Comments
We were pleasantly surprised by the hotel. Having read bad reviews (after booking!) especially regarding the food, all I can say is the choice of meals was astounding - and tasty!
The hotel itself may not be the Savoy, but for sheer value for money, it had everything you would expect abroad. I would recommend the all-inclusive package simply because when holidaying you're never sure exactly how a day will pan out (especially with kids), and you can therefore eat and drink at times of your choosing.
I would, however, recommend hiring a car to ease the long walk to the town and beach - the bus connections appeared very unreliable.
Salou itself has yet to become over-commercialised, and has a pleasant, care-free air about it.
We will be returning next year to Villamarina.
