General Comments
These well made Wharfdale Diamond 9.1 speakers perform way above their pricerange. Midrange is really superb. Nitin Sawhneys Beyond Skin album tests bass to its low limits. The Diamonds really control the difficult bass and percussion on Anthem without a Nation. Of course many floorstanders have a deeper bass but these have great control for their size. After running in, these speakers reproduce Jazz and Folk, Classical and Rock with a close up feel and a marvelous soundstage. My Musical Fidelity x-80 amp, which is viscerial and full blooded adds pace to rock music and the Diamonds rock on with a natural and foot tapping rhythm. If you like a lean tight sound these speakers are not for you. If you like a full on classy sound that's natural and musical these are your babies! Their five star rating and product of the year 2004 in 'What HiFi' magazine is easily valid.
