Good Points
Large load space with seats down or seven seater with small load space.
Bad Points
Very bad driving position, rolls around corners like a barrel going down a river.
General Comments
I have had a Vauxhall Zafira 1.8 Comfort SE People Carrier for about three months now and quite often do trips lasting up to three hours or more. I found out very quickly that at 6 foot I am far to tall to drive it comfortably. The drivers seat is to low and close to the pedals causing intense back and leg ache (there is more leg room in a Corsa).
It does't matter what speed you try and take a corner at, you can go as slow as you like the car will still feel as if it is trying it's hardest to roll over. This means that unless you are on a motorway you spend a lot of time trying to brace yourself upright with your knees (putting more strain on your lower back).
The engine is pretty gut less unless you are prepared to take the revs to the limit before changing gear.
So far the only mechanical problem I have had was to do with the AC which needed replacing.
I have driven Vauxhall's for many years and was looking forward to my Zafira. I thought the way the seats could be played with was brilliant and the fact that it is a 7 seater is great when you have 4 grandchildren. Visability is good its just a shame it is so uncomfortable to drive.
After 3 months I have just arranged to test drive a Nissan X-Trail and can't wait to get rid of the Zafira.
